Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which a patient breathes 100% oxygen while inside a pressurized chamber. The pressure is typically between 1.5 to 3 times normal atmospheric pressure (ATA). This increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve more effectively into the blood plasma and tissues, delivering much higher oxygen levels to cells than breathing room air at normal pressure.
