About Us

We opened the Southern Arizona Limb Preservation Center in Tucson with one shared mission: to save limbs and transform lives. As physicians, we have seen the profound impact that timely, specialized care can have—preventing amputations, restoring mobility, and preserving independence. Our team came together to bring advanced treatments, compassionate support, and multidisciplinary expertise to our community.

We believe every patient deserves the chance to walk, work, and live fully, and we are dedicated to making that possible here in Tucson.

Wound Types Commonly Treated

Diabetic Foot Ulcers

A diabetic foot ulcer is a sore or wound on the foot that occurs in people with diabetes. Caused by poor circulation or nerve damage, these ulcers heal slowly and can worsen if untreated. Proper care includes regular foot checks are essential to prevent complications and promote healing.

Radiation Injuries

Radiation therapy injury occurs when high-energy radiation used to treat cancer damages healthy tissues. This can lead to side effects like skin irritation, fatigue, or more severe issues in treated areas. Side effects vary by location and dose, but careful planning aims to minimize harm while targeting cancer cells.

Pressure Ulcers (Bedsores)

Pressure ulcers, also known as bedsores, occur when prolonged pressure on the skin cuts off blood flow, causing tissue damage. They commonly affect areas over bony parts of the body. Risk factors include immobility, poor nutrition, and moisture.
